A continuous course devoted to essential discoveries and paradigms in Cell Biology is arranged within the frame of "Bakalar Plus": http://www.bakalarplus.cz/predmety/landmarksmilestones-of-cell-biology/

We are trying to open interesting topics (a single per semester, each semester a new one) on a broad scale together with the origins of the discovery, the background of their inventors or the appearance of a new school. Such a personal point of view is hard to teach and examine during the regular classes. Here, we focus on discussion and this tutorial course includes also homework and finally Wikipedia entry. Many different formats of interaction between tutors and students is to be employed - Nobel lectures, reading, discussion over seminal papers, and together with invited guests - all in English.

Předmět je tematizovám buněčnou biologií, jeho cílem je představit přesně to, co se na přednáškách nestíhá/špatně zkouší - tedy konkrétní lidi, kteří stojí za přelomovými objevy, popř. historické pozadí, etické aspekty - a to tutoriální formou s maximalní interaktivností. Kdo si předmět zapíše, musí počítat s občasnou domácí přípravou, s různými formáty (Nobelovské přednášky, četba a diskuse klíčových publikací přednášky), zvanými hosty a samozřejmě jazykem vědecké komunikace - angličtinou.
